About Us

Our Story

The story of Oh Cheezes Bali (originally called “Oh Cheeses That’s Good“) began in 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic in a small private kitchen in Canggu, Bali. Fueled by a passion for plant-based food, we started our journey to create delicious, cruelty-free vegan cheeses.

After we perfected the first few cheeses and shared them with friends and family, their reaction was immediate: “Oh Cheeses, that’s good!

Word spread rapidly, and soon private customers, restaurants, and shops were reaching out to carry our products. The rest is history…

Today, we offer a diverse array of handcrafted vegan cheeses and other products that delight both vegans and non-vegans alike. This shows that plant-based products can be just as tasty as their traditional counterparts.

Our Mission

At our core, we believe that the path to a sustainable future is paved with delicious plant-based choices. Our mission is built on three unwavering commitments:

🌱 For People:
Our primary goal is to create tasty vegan food that appeals to vegans and non-vegans alike. By crafting plant-based options that are as good or even better than their dairy counterparts, we empower everyone to transition toward a more plant-based diet without sacrificing the joy of eating.

🐾 For Animals:
We are driven by a deep-seated commitment to animal welfare. Every product we make is a direct step toward a world where animals are safe from suffering and treated with the compassion they deserve.

🌍 For our Planet:
We recognize our responsibility to the environment. Our third and final pillar is the protection of our planet, ensuring it remains healthy, clean, and sustainable for generations to come.

About our Cheezes

Production and Shelf Life

While a select few of our cheeses undergo a ripening process of up to 5 weeks, the majority are crafted freshly upon order placement. This careful approach guarantees the highest level of freshness and maximizes shelf life. Regular shelf life usually is around 1 week, except when vacuum packed, then the shelf-life extends to around 1 month.

Storage Tips and How to Extend Shelf Life

Our vegan hard cheeses release water during the first days after production. Best is to absorb that water by wrapping them in a kitchen paper towel and store it in an airtight container. Change the paper towel when wet within the first 3 days and wipe out the moisture in the container. This will extend the shelf life to around 10 days.
IMPORTANT: Do not leave the cheese in the original plastic wrapping after opening.

Freezing our Cheezes

Due to the water content of non-fermented cheeses the structure will change slightly through freezing, but the taste will stay the same. Therefore, we suggest to only freeze cheeses which you will later melt on top of pizza or grilled sandwiches etc.

Melting our Cheezes

All hard cheeses and Camembert are meltable in an oven or grill, but they need slightly more heat than regular dairy cheeses.
For pizzas and grilled sandwiches grate the cheese, sprinkle some additional oil on top and expose to high heat.
Best results for melting our cheeses are achieved, when covering it with aluminum foil while in the oven.
